Of departing vans

16th September 2018

Welcome back. Some of this week's plans didn't happen. Other parts ran late. Some of the week didn't get planned at all.

Of multiple Andrews

9th September 2018

Welcome back. As I drove up to Tunstead on Monday morning I began remembering various things that I had meant to bring and forgotten, plus hoping that things I hadn't found in the workshop were in fact hiding somewhere in the van.

Of bolts, present and not

26th August 2018

Last week I had a dearth of pictures. This week? Well, it's scarcely a surfeit, but enough to be going on with. Read on, dear reader.

Of thinking and spraying

12th August 2018

You just cannot underestimate the power of the written word. Only last week I declared my dissatisfaction with the on-going heat and look! It's been raining today, we've had to have the lights on in the shed and I nearly took a sweater down with me. So, what if I declare that this week I'll win the lottery? Aah, hang on, I've seen a snag in that. I don't play.

5th August 2018

Welcome to August. No you, are, I assure you: I don't want it if it's going to stay this hot.

Of gas oil and hedgehog houses

29th July 2018

Back again? Not so many pictures to show this week - one of those weeks where a lot of things happen but scarcely worth photographing. So best read on..

Of bogies, flats and vans

8th July 2018

Well we broke the 30 deg C barrier in the shed today, touching 30.1. Lots of tea and flavoured water to drink. Lots of sweat dripping off foreheads. But enough of that, let's get on with the week.

Of meetings, planned and chance

1st July 2018

We have a new clock in the shed. Well not new exactly, it came from my late father's house but I only found it again this week when having a tidy-up in my 'office' at home. It was still happily displaying the time, date, day of the week and temperature. I thought that it would be of better use at the shed, so now it looks down on us (the LCD display looks blacker from below) and I can exclusively reveal that the temperature in the shed touched 29.5 degrees today. Much tea consumed to stave off dehydration. But I digress...

Of vans, Wickhams and wheels

3rd June 2018

I'd love to start by telling you how many copies of my novel, The Railway to Merhead got sold this week but I honestly don't know.
